Medical Coverage

Health coverage for all employees is with Aetna. Tenaska pays 80 percent of the premium cost. Employee pays 20 percent of the premium cost via pre-tax payroll deduction through a Flexible Benefit Plan. Premiums are taken from 24 pay periods.

Dental Coverage

Dental coverage for all Omaha-based employees is with BCBS of Nebraska; all employees who reside outside of Nebraska or Iowa are covered by Delta Dental. Premium costs are shared between Tenaska and the employee on an approximately equal basis. Premiums are taken from 24 pay periods.

Vision Coverage

Coverage is with EyeMed. Employee pays the premium for this voluntary coverage for employee and dependents.

Life & AD&D Insurance

Tenaska pays 100 percent of the cost of these coverages. Coverage amount is equal to 150 percent of annual base pay, to a maximum guarantee issue amount of $500,000. Annual base pay is considered to be base wage/salary plus other specified incentive compensations. Minimum eligibility is 26 work hours/week.

Voluntary Life & AD&D Insurance

Voluntary coverage is available for employee, spouse and children.

Long-Term Disability Coverage

Tenaska pays 100 percent of the cost of this benefit for employees. This is an income replacement benefit should the employee be disabled for more than 90 days due to do a non-work-related injury or illness.

Flexible Spending Accounts (Section 125)

Tenaska offers both the Medical Care Spending Account and the Dependent Care Spending Account. These accounts allow for certain medical and dependent care expenses to be paid on a pre-tax basis. Annual enrollment is required for these accounts administered by PayFlex.

Tenaska Retirement Plan

Tenaska provides a 401(k) plan that allows eligible employees to contribute to their account on a pre-tax basis. A Roth provision is available for employees electing to contribute after-tax dollars. Contribution changes can be made anytime. Rollover and loan provisions are available. Tenaska normally makes a discretionary (profit sharing) contribution annually. Profit sharing contributions vest at 20 percent for each year of service and are 100 percent vested during the fifth year of employment.

Vacation & Holiday

Tenaska offers paid annual vacation based on length of service and paid holidays.

Tuition Reimbursement

Tenaska will assist employees monetarily, based on policy guidelines. Minimum eligibility is one year of service.

Adoption Benefits

Tenaska will assist employees monetarily, based on policy guidelines related to Section 137 of IRS Code of 1986. Minimum eligibility is six months of service.
