Tenaska Plants Qualify for 21 Safety Awards in 2016

Seven Tenaska-owned and -operated plants qualified for a combined total of 21 safety awards from the National Safety Council (NSC). The awards recognized the plants’ outstanding safety records through 2015. Five of the plants recognized have operated at least 10 years without a U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration illness or injury that resulted in time away from work.

Tenaska Gateway Recognized for Efficiency in Water Purification Process

The Tenaska Gateway Generating Station was honored with a 2013 GE Return on Environment Award for incorporating advanced water treatment technology that reduces water use and helps ensure a high level of water quality is maintained at the plant and in treated wastewater returned to the environment.

Tenaska was listed by the National Resource Defense Council in 2013 benchmarking studies as having among the lowest fleetwide average emission rates for fossil-fueled power plants in the United States.

Tenaska Ferndale Receives Better Workplace Award

The Tenaska Ferndale Cogeneration Station was one of 18 businesses recognized by the Association of Washington Businesses with a Better Workplace Award. The award specifically recognized the plant’s employee-centered safety program, which has allowed employees to work more than 20 years without an injury or illness resulting in time away from work.
