OMAHA, Neb. – Tenaska, one of the largest private companies in the U.S., has moved its Omaha offices to a new consolidated headquarters building at 14302 FNB Parkway in the First National Business Park northeast of 144th Street and West Dodge Road. Employees began work in the new building on Mar. 31.
Tenaska’s Omaha employees moved from three separate facilities in the Miracle Hills Office Park near 114th Street and West Dodge Road. The Tenaska offices had been located there since 1994.
The move includes Tenaska’s corporate employees and natural gas marketing affiliate Tenaska Marketing Ventures, biofuels and related agricultural commodities marketer Tenaska Commodities, LLC, natural gas fuels marketing and development company Tenaska NG Fuels, LLC and private equity manager Tenaska Capital Management, LLC.
“Our new headquarters brings together Tenaska’s approximately 300 Nebraska employees for the first time in more than 20 years, with room to grow,” said Tim Kudron, Senior Vice President, Finance & Administration. “The building has an open architectural design that promotes enhanced communication and collaboration. The end result will be a workforce that is even more engaged.”
The new, 100,000-square-feet office building sits on slightly more than 5 acres. The building incorporates sustainable features and practices, including a green design that uses natural light. Amenities include open work and collaboration spaces, a café with catering services for meetings, a fitness area, electric car charging stalls and an outdoor patio with access to walking trails and adjacent green space. Construction began in late 2012. Reflecting Tenaska’s Nebraska roots, the lead developer, real estate representatives, architects, engineers, financial partners, and building contractor are all Nebraska companies.
