David Wilroy Brings 14 Years of Experience at Tenaska Power Plants

BILLINGSLEY, Alabama – Tenaska has hired David Wilroy to oversee operations at Tenaska Lindsay Hill Generating Station near Billingsley. Bringing 14 years of experience at Tenaska, Wilroy replaces plant manager Robert Threlkeld, who announced his retirement in June after nearly 20 years of service.

“David’s industry background, expertise and history with Tenaska position him well to provide strategic and strong leadership at the Lindsay Hill facility,” said Todd Jonas, Tenaska senior vice president of operations and management. “David will continue to ensure our facility operates efficiently and safely.”

As plant manager, Wilroy will oversee the day-to-day operations, including responsibility for environmental, safety, community relations and efficiency programs.

“I am honored to take on this new role,” Wilroy said. “The team at Lindsay Hill is best-in-class and I look forward to continuing our community partnerships and safe and efficient operations.”

Wilroy previously worked as the maintenance manager at the Tenaska Central Alabama Generating Station from 2007 until it was sold in 2020. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Prior to joining Tenaska Central Alabama, Wilroy worked in the pulp and paper industry. Wilroy succeeds Threlkeld, who retired in June 2021.
